- 👉 Каждому псу в упряжке Бэка, кроме Шпица, придали черты кого-то из гномов из классического мультфильма Disney «Белоснежка и семь гномов» (1937): Долли – это Скромник, Пайк – Ворчун, Джо – Весельчак, Билли – Соня, Дэйв – Простачок, Даб – Чихун, и Сол-Лекс – Умник.
- 👉 В фильме использованы собаки, созданные компьютерной графикой, что позволило расширить спектр их эмоций и избежать травм. Криса Сандерса сделали режиссёром этого фильма из-за его опыта работы в анимации в компаниях Disney и DreamWorks.
- 👉 В память о Джеке Лондоне (1876-1916) и его любви к природе, создание этого фильма сделали максимально экологически чистым. При работе над фильмом не использовали одноразовые пластиковые бутылки, использовали только биоразлагаемые тарелки и столовые приборы. Оставшуюся пищу отдавали неимущим, использовали генераторы на солнечной энергии и применяли бумагу из вторичного сырья.
- 👉 В цифровой модели Бэка использовали скан Бакли, пса, которого режиссёр Крис Сандерс с женой Джессикой взяли из приюта в Канзасе.
- 👉 Уэса Брауна, который сыграл полицейского, попросили поймать одной рукой, не глядя, брошенный ему мешок с почтой. Браун так и сделал, причём с первого же дубля. В процессе монтажа, однако, кто-то из студийного начальства решил, что смотрится это слишком «мультяшно», так что руку Брауна заменили цифровой, а мешку с почтой дали упасть в снег.
- 👉 Красно-чёрный костюм Хэла, которого играет Дэн Стивенс, пошили из куска материи, вытканной ещё до золотой лихорадки на Юконе свыше 100 лет назад.
